K-Fuel® Technology – Simplicity of Design

The K-Fuel® process was developed at the Stanford Research Institute in 1975 by Edward Koppelman. Over the past 20+ years, extensive research, development along with pilot and commercial scale facility design, construction and operation have resulted in a robust and validated technology process.   The patented process involves the heating and pressurization of low value coals, and the irreversible removal of the water content, and converting the product into a higher energy K-Fuel® product.
