Evergreen Energy Names VP Business Development; Promotes VP International Business Development Adds Key Engineering and Environmental Positions DENVER - March 11, 2008-Evergreen Energy Inc (NYSE Arca: EEE) has named Mike Rosenberg vice president of business development for the United States and promoted Scott Terhune, director of international business development, to vice president with the same responsibilities at Evergreen Energy International. In addition, the company has added to its engineering and environmental permitting ranks with three staff appointments in recent weeks. "These appointments underscore our continued aggressive business development and engineering efforts in the U.S. and overseas and our strong belief that K-Fuel® refined coal is a pioneering American technology that offers a near-term, cleaner coal solution for energy and environmental needs around the world," said Kevin R. Collins, president and CEO of Evergreen. Rosenberg has more than 20 years of business development, project management, finance and engineering experience in the energy, alternative energy, environmental and biotechnology fields, and served most recently as director of the materials handling market segment at Ballard Power Systems Inc., where he also did significant work in corporate development and investor relations. Rosenberg holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of California at Berkeley and a bachelor’s of science degree in chemical and petroleum refining engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Terhune, who joined Evergreen Energy International last fall as its director of international business development, has more than 17 years of experience in strategic business planning and development in the power, energy, utility and refinery industries. Before joining Evergreen, he was vice president of sales and marketing at RS Technologies and national sales and marketing manager at Amitech USA. Terhune holds a master’s degree in business administration from Oklahoma State University, and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oklahoma State. Most recently, Terhune was at the center of negotiations that led to the January announcement with Evergreen’s partner Sumitomo Corporation of agreement with a major Indonesian mining group to proceed with development of engineering specifications, economic evaluation, marketability analysis and further coal tests for a K-Fuel® coal refinery on the Indonesian island of Kalimantan. Engineering Staff Expands To support its ongoing business development needs and prepare for the construction of future K-Fuel® plants, Evergreen added three key positions in February to its strengthened engineering department. These positions, a lead process engineer, process control engineer, and manager of environmental and regulatory issues, are among nine new engineering hires at the company in the past six months. Evergreen’s enlarged and improved engineering team is under the leadership of Steve Wolff, executive vice president of engineering, and Dr. John D. Winter, vice president of engineering, who both joined the company last year. About Evergreen Contacts: Analysts and Investors: Media and Public Affairs: |
